Take a mixing bowl. Add butter and beat it using a hand mixer or a hand whisk. You have to beat it till it gets light in color and it looks creamy.
-
Now add powdered sugar. Beat till it gets properly mixed with butter.
-
Now add the curd + baking soda mixture. Also add vanilla essence. Beat it for 1 minute.
-
In a separate bowl, put a sieve. Add maida (all purpose flour) and baking powder. Sieve it nicely. Sieving is an important step. Don’t avoid it

Add the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients. Mix till you get a smooth cake batter.
-
Take out around 1/4 cup of the cake batter into a separate mixing bowl. Add cocoa powder and mix well.

Take a cake tin. Add both the cake batters alternatively. After you have added the entire amount of both the cake batters, take a toothpick or a cake tester and just swirl it around the cake batter in the cake tin a few times to create a marbled effect.
-
Bake at 180 C /350 F for 30-35 minutes or till a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
