1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup granulated sugar
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup water
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1 tbsp white vinegar
1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour an 8-inch round cake pan or line it with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
In a separate bowl, combine the water, vegetable oil, vinegar, and vanilla extract.
Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Be careful not to over-mix.
Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then remove it from the pan and transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
