INGREDIENTS
ghee 1/2 cup
gur powdered 1/2 cup
wheat flour/ atta 1 cup
gond/ edible gum pdr 1 tsp
nuts chopped for garnish
ghee for greasing the tray/ plate
METHOD
in a heavy pan, heat ghee, add atta, keep roasting by continuously stirring till the atta turns brown and a nice aroma comes, at this stage add the powdered gond, mix well, it will thicken, switch off the gas, keep stirring well, add the powdered gur, keep stirring till the mixture comes together and leaves the sides of the pan.
Pour the mixture in a greased tray/ plate, level it spread some chopped nuts on top, press it down.
Wait for the mixture to cool and harden, cut into desired shape and serve.
This can be stored for 15-20 days, if it isn't relished by your family.
This is given as prasad in a Jain temple in Gujarat. The prasad has to be eaten in the temple itself, you can't take it out of the temple premises, that is the rule. This is a famous Gujarati dessert.
