Ingredients:
1 1/2 Cup Idli Batter
1medium Onion, finely chopped
1/2 Capsicum, finely chopped
3 Green Chilies, finely chopped
2 tbsp Coriander leaves finely chopped
1 1/2 tbsp Rice Flour
1 1/2 tbsp Semolina / rava
2 Pinch of Soda bicarb
Salt to taste
Ingredients for Tempering:
1 tsp Oil
1 tsp Cumin seeds
1/4 tsp Asafoetida / hing
1 piece Ginger, finely chopped
Curry leaves finely chopped
Oil for frying
In a big bowl, mix all the ingredients well.
In a kadai, add 1 tsp oil, add cumin seeds, once they crackle, add hing, ginger and curry leaves, add this to the batter, mix well
Heat oil for frying in a kadai, once hot, reduce heat to medium, with wet hands, take small amount of batter and drop gently in hot oil, don't bother about getting round shape.
Once the bondas are light brown, drain well and remove on paper napkin to absorb excess oil.
This tastes good eaten hot, no chutney required, enjoy it on a cold/ rainy day.
