Moong dal halwa premix

 Ingredients

moong dal 1 1/2 cups

sugar pdr  1 1/2 cups

milk pdr  3/4 cup

cardamom pdr 1 tsp

nuts  4 tbsp

ghee 3 tbsp

 

Method

wash well moong dal, then soak dal for 15 minutes, drain water, spread the dal on a cloth and keep it under the fan for an hour to dry completely

now on low flame roast the dry moong dal well, till it colour changes, then remove, cool completely and powder coarsely

heat ghee in a pan, roast the chopped nuts till golden, remove the nuts, add the moong dal pdr for 3-4 minutes, remove once cool, add rest of the ingredients, mix well, this can be stored in the fridge up to 6 months and outside for 1 1/2 months.

 

 How to make halwa with premix

in a pan heat 5-6 tbsp ghee,  2 cups premix add 3 cups hot water little at a time, while you whisk the dal, so no lumps form, mix all well, cover the pan and cook till all the water is absorbed by the dal. Now, halwa is ready to serve, you can garnish with some chopped nuts.
