Turnip halwa / pudding

 Ingredients

turnip 4 peeled, chopped, boiled and mashed 

jaggery pdr  1 cup

ghee 2-3 tbsp

nuts chopped 2-3 tbsp- cashew, almonds, pista, walnuts

raisins  1 tbsp

saffron little

maize flour  2 tbsp

cardamom pdr  1/2 tsp

 

Method

in a pan, heat 1 tbsp ghee, add nuts and raisins, fry till golden ( keep some nuts for garnishing)

add mashed turnips, keep frying for a few minutes

add maize flour and a tbsp ghee, keep frying for 3-4 minutes

then add jaggery, keep frying till jaggery melts and it all comes together dding some saffron

once the halwa leaves the sides of the pan, add a tsp of ghee, cardamom pdr, mix well

Serve halwa garnishing with some fried nuts and raisins.

Enjoy the halwa hot.
