Ingredients
Ura dal 1 cup
Idli rice 4 cups
methi 2 tbsp
salt to taste
Cooked rice 1 cup
Wash and soak rice, dal methi, grind to a smooth paste using water
Then and cooked rice, grind once more.
Ferment the batter for 7-8 hours
Cook in bamboo steamer or idli plates
The ingredients is little different as cooked rice is added. It will come soft, thinner than the normal idlis.
This is called Palassri idli, as it started in this place.
For a variation, you may add some finely chopped carrots, some green peas, corn, green chilies chopped along with curry leaves and coriander leaves to make it more nutritious.
You may sprinkle some milagai podi in between the batter and on top too to have a different variation. Use your imagination to create to appease to your taste buds.
