Ingredients:
1 cup shelled pistachios
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup butter
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup milk
Powdered sugar for dusting
Directions:
1. Start by grinding the pistachios into a fine powder. You can use a food processor for this.
2. In a saucepan, combine the sugar and water. Heat it over medium heat until the sugar dissolves completely.
3.
Add the ground pistachios, butter, and vanilla extract to the saucepan.
Stir well and let it cook for about 5 minutes until it thickens
slightly. Then, remove it from the heat and let it cool.
4. In
a bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, and salt together. Gradually add
the milk to this mixture, stirring until you have a smooth dough.
5. Roll out the dough on a floured surface into a rectangle. Spread the cooled pistachio mixture evenly over the dough.
6. Carefully roll the dough up from one end to the other, creating a log shape.
7. Slice the log into pieces about 1 inch thick and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
8. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 15-20 minutes, or until they are lightly golden.
9. Once baked, let them cool and dust with powdered sugar before serving.
