Apple cobbler


Apple cobbler

For filling
 Apples 1 kg              sugar ½ cup            salt ¼ tsp        cinnamon 2 cm or ½ tsp pdr.
Lime juice 2 tsp      vanilla essence ½ tsp        water ¼ cup         butter 1 tbsp

topping
Refined flr ½ cup            baking pdr ½ tsp         sugar ½ cup            salt ¼ tsp
Softened butter 2 tbsp      egg 1 lightly beaten          fine biscuit crumbs 1 tbsp
 

For filling
1)      core & slice apples, pour lime juice.
2)      Boil water, add apples, ½ cup sugar, cinnamon & salt.
3)      Cook till apples are soft & mushy.
4)      Add butter & essence.
5)      Pour in a greased baking dish & set aside.

For topping
1)      Sift flour, salt  & baking pdr.
2)       Cream butter & sugar. Add egg, beating well.
3)      Mix in sifted ingredients & biscuit crumbs.
4)      Drop batter by tbsp on apple mixture, spacing evenly.
5)      Bake for 30 minutes in a hot oven, or until top is firm to touch & delicately browned.
