YAM/ CHENAI KILANGU/ JAMINKHAND ROASTED WITH SPICES !

INGREDIENTS

yam/chenai kilangu/jaminkhand  1/2 kg, peeled & boiled till half cooked in 1/2"/ 3 "thick slices
salt 1/2 tsp or to taste
red chilli pdr.  1/2 tsp or to taste
turmeric pdr.  1/4 tsp
chana masala pdr. 1/2 tsp ( optional)
semolina  1/4 cup
oil for shallow frying

METHOD
in a plate mix the spices well, coat the half-cooked yam
roll the coated yam in semolina so it is fully covered
in a fry pan, heat 2-3 tsp oil, once hot, place the slices of yam, cover it, keep it in sim, so it gets cooked & also roasted well
after 3-4 minutes, turn them over, if need be put little oil to cover them, close again for another 3-4 minutes, or till the slices are well crisp & brown.
serve hot with tea or as an accompaniment with any rice dish.
