SPICY DAL PURIS

INGREDIENTS

for puri
maida/ all purpose flr.   100 gm
fine semolina   2 tbsp
baking soda  1/2 tsp
ajwain/ carom seeds  1/2 tsp
oil  2 tsp
mix all these well, then add enough water to make a stiff dough.

oil for frying

For stuffing
oil   2 tbsp
arhar/ tuvar dal 1/2 cup cooked( drained) grind in a mixie with ginger & green chillies to taste
salt to taste
garam masala 1/2 tsp
fresh coriander leaves finely chopped  2 tbsp
hing  1/4 tsp

heat oil, add the mashed dal,hing, salt, garam masala, mix well
cook for few minutes till dry, add coriander leaves, mix well
remove & cool.

METHOD

to make puris, roll out small thick puris, out filling, cover well, roll out carefully, making sure that filling doesn't come out, fry in hot oil till brown, drain.
serve hot with some pickle with tea !
