TANDOORI PANEER/ COTTAGE CHEESE

INGREDIENTS

to marinate paneer
paneer cubes  100 gm/ 1 cup
curd  1/2 cup
salt to taste
cream  2 tbsp
turmeric pdr.   1/2 tsp
chilli  pdr.   1 tsp
tandoori masala pdr.  1/4 tsp

for paste
cumin  1 tbsp
kasturi methi  1 tbsp
green chillies  3 or to taste
ginger  1"
cashew nuts   8-10
kaskas/ poppy seeds   2 tbsp
coconut grated
cinnamon  1" piece
water 2 tbsp, to soak the above ingredients for 30 minutes, then grind to a fine paste.
or if you fry poppy seeds well, then soak it, it will be easier to grind always.

for gravy
ghee  2 tsp
onion   1/2 cup finely chopped
cream   1 tbsp

METHOD
mix all the ingredients for marination & keep aside for 30 minutes, you need not mix them well
grind the ingredients to a smooth paste
for gravy, heat ghee, fry onion till light pink, add the ground paste, cook for about 4 minutes on low flame, then add the marinated paneer, it may have given out some water, don't worry add everything, salt to taste, mix, cook on low flame without stirring too much
once it is all well coated, add cream & remove.
this will have a nice pink colour, aroma due to the ground spices.
