STEAMED APPLE WITH BUTTERSCOTCH

INGREDIENTS

apple one big core the centre, cut into half/ 4
prick each apple piece with 2 cloves
put in the colander/ strainer, keep over boiling water, covered to steam well for 10 minutes   OR
those who have microwave, can cover and steam in microwave for 3-4 minutes

for butterscotch

butter  1 tbsp
brown sugar  1 tbsp
sugar  1 tbsp
milk   40 ml
cream  1 tbsp
corn flour 1/2 tsp mixed with 2-3 tsp water well

heat a pan, add butter, once it melts, add both the sugars, keep stirring well on high flame till it boils, add milk, cream, reduce flame, add corn flour mixture to thicken, once it comes to desired consistency, remove
to serve, remove the cloves from the apple pieces, keep in a deep dish/ plate, pour the butterscotch mixture on it, drizzle some fresh cream if you want, which I normally avoid, you can sprinkle wee bit of cinnamon pdr. on top, as it goes well with apple.
