SPICY AND SWEET CHANA DAL



INGREDIENTS
Chana dal 1 cup soak over-night
Milk ½ cup
Ginger-green chili paste ½ tsp
Sugar 1 tbsp
Lime juice 1 tbsp
Raisins / kismis 2 tbsp
Curry leaves few
Coriander leaves little
Salt to taste
Mustard seeds ½ tsp
Oil 2 tbsp

METHOD
Coarsely grind the chana dal. Heat oil, add mustard seeds, once it crackles, add curry leaves, add dal paste, cook till it is little dry, add milk, raisins and the seasoning, continue stirring till the mixture becomes dry like crumbs. Serve warm with coriander leaves and fine sev if desired.
Ps- those who like it sweet, can avoid the chili paste, curry leaves, coriander leaves and mustard seeds, instead use fennel seeds            ( saunf) and add more sugar and continue in the same way till dry, garnish with nuts and serve warm.
