POHA / AVIL BARFI



INGREDIENTS
poha 1 cup washed, drained well
sugar 1 cup
mawa 1 cup
milk  1 cup
ghee 1 tbsp +
nuts as desired
cardamom pdr. 1 tsp
food colour if desired or add little strawberry crush

METHOD
in a heavy / non-stick pan, heat ghee, fry poha on low flame stirring continuously for 5 minutes. Add sugar, mawa, milk, cook till thick, stirring often, add cardamom pdr., mix well.
if desired, then divide the mixture in half, add food colour few drops to one half/ strawberry crush, mix well. spread it on a greased plate, spread half of the nuts on top, pour the other half, spread well, sprinkle some nuts on top, press well. let it set well, cut into desired shape and serve.

Note- I personally don't approve of food colour as they're carcinogenic, instead you may add rose syrup/ strawberry crush or saffron powder, OR you may leave it plain, adding different flavour essence to each half and follow the same method as above.
