Easy, healthy sweet and spicy Poli

that is the little cup in which I soaked arhar/ tuvar dal

this is the sweet poli batter and the poli ready to eat

this is the spicy poli and the batter.

INGREDIENTS for sweet poli

tuvar/ arhar dal ½ cup

Wash n soak in water for 2 hours

Drain n grind with pdr jiggery 1 cup + ½ cup water

Grind to a smooth paste

Atta 1 cup

Cardamom pdr ¼ tsp

Salt to taste, mix all well with atta

Pour the ground paste to the atta

Add turmeric pdr ¼ tsp

Mix all well, adding a cup of water as needed

Whisk all well to a smooth batter like for dosa

Add ghee 1 tbsp, mix well

Heat a tawa, grease with ghee, pour 2 tbsp of batter, cover and cook

for a minute

Turn over apply ghee, cook like what you’ll do a parantha pressing

till brown spots come on both sides.

 For spicy poli

same measurements of dal and atta

when you grind dal, add ginger 1" chopped, 2-3 green chilies, little

hing, garlic 2-3 optional and salt to taste

Make like dosa in the same way like the sweet one.

This is the easier version of the Puran poli. To be honest, hubby was

so used to my real version of the poli, he didn't like this one, though

for me, it was good enough, also my physio liked it.
