Almond Pista barfi

 INGREDIENTS

 
almonds  3/4 cup

pista  1/4 cup

sugar 3/4 cup

water 1/2 cup

ghee 2 tbsp

 

METHOD

Almonds  ¾ cup

Pista ¼ cup

In a pan roast them together for 2 minutes

Cool and grind fine, not too fine in a mixer jar.

In a pan/ kadai add ¾ cup sugar and ½ cup water

Boil till 1 string consistency

Add ground mixture, mix well, see no lumps are there

 Add 1 tbsp of ghee till the mixture thickens, keep stirring

Add another tbsp of ghee and once it thicken and leaves the side and there is glossy texture

Remove and pour in a prepared tin/ plate to set sprinkling some nuts on top

After an hour once it is set, cut into desired shapes and serve.

 ps- those who want to add green colour, you may add few drops once the syrup is boiling, before adding the nut mixture. Please note that most of the food colours are carcinogenic.I don't add food colours.
