Papaya Halwa

What do I do when I get bored of eating a fruit as it is, when it doesn't taste good? Well, turn into a nice dessert ! The main thing is, normally before lunch, I do have some fruit, but this morning, didn't feel like eating anything after breakfast, I was feeling too full, not even a cup of tea !

The ingredients are simple, what we always have at home, nothing fancy.

INGREDIENTS

papaya 2 small cups grated or mashed well

desiccated coconut 1/2 cup OR rice flour 2 tbsp OR semolina( rawa) 2 tbsp

ghee/ clarified butter 2-3 tbsp

nuts 1 tbsp

raisins 1 tbsp

cardamom pdr 1/2 tsp / essence

sugar 3-4 tbsp or as per taste

METHOD

heat 1 tbsp ghee, fry nuts and raisins, remove

in the same pan, add pumpkin, fry till its moisture dries

then add desiccated coconut/ rice flour/ rawa little at a time and fry well

once all dry ingredients are used, add sugar and mix well, cook all on low flame

keep cooking till dry , ad it gets thick add ghee little at a time

just before taking out, add roasted nuts reserving some for decoration, also add cardamom pdr/ essence and mix well.

It tastes good hot/ cold.

I made it very dry, so it won't get spoiled quickly, or else you'll have to refrigerate it after a day.
