Chocolate,banana, oats cookies

These cookies are a triple threat! Oats add a wintry flavor to sunny, summery chocolate chips and bananas are a good source of vitamins, helps in digestion, especially for those with fistula it is very beneficial to eat 3 bananas a day!
Ingredients
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup shortening
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 3/4 cups quick-cooking or regular oats
  • 1 cup mashed ripe bananas (2 to 3 medium)
  • 1/2 cup milk chocolate or semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
  1. Heat oven to 400 degrees F.
     
  2. Mix all ingredients.
     
  3. Drop dough by rounded teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet.
     
  4. Bake about 10 minutes or until light brown.
Notes
Yields about 4 dozen cookies.
