Ingredients
2 cups whole wheat flour/atta
½ cup sugar or to taste
½ cup water
4 tbsp ghee for the dough
1 tsp cardamom powder
1 tsp saunf pdr
1/2 tsp pepper pdr
1-2 tbsp nuts chopped fine
1 tbsp ghee to apply on top of cooked flatbread
Preparations Warm water add sugar mix till it dissolves, no need of syrup consistency, keep aside to cool In a bowl add mix wheat flour and 4 tablespoon desi ghee, rub with your palms to mix well, such that when you hold, it shouldn't crumble. Add the spice powder, chopped nuts mix well. Pour the sugar syrup little by little and knead it to a semi-firm dough. Take a handful size dough and with a rolling pin roll it to a thick small flatbread . Put it on hot griddle,Cook on lowest possible flame. Flip at regular intervals and keep pressing it down, until brown patches appear on both sides. After removing from tawa,optionally apply a little more ghee over the lolo. It is supposed to be a comfort food for the new mother, as she'ld eat it whenever she was hungry, it seems it was taken on long journeys, as it would last long.
