With the rising costs of dal, oils etc, I don't like wasting food. I always try to change its form and serve others, which will be relished than serving again the leftovers as they're ! Dals can be added to wheat flour along with spices and made into paranthas. Or chilla, we've to be always innovative. I've made cheesy sandwiches with leftover kuttu ! Honestly I didn't get to taste, as the family really loved it, that itself filled my stomach.
Ingredients
leftover dal
besan as needed
onion finely chopped
carrot grated
green chilies finely chopped to taste ( you may use chili pdr, if kids don't like chilies)
ginger finely chopped/ grated
salt to taste
coriander leaves
oil for cooking, water as needed
I've not given the measurements, as it depends on how much dal is leftover, for how many people you've to cook. Hence, depending on that you can add the above ingredients, you may add some other veges also. Make batter make chillas, once cooked, to make it enticing, add some grated processed cheese or keep cheese slices cut along with some chutney, fold it and cook for a minute on each side, pressing down for the cheese to melt! Enjoy it hot.
